Heads Up to Glastonbury has been cancelled
Saturday 3rd June 2017
All partners involved have regrettably had to make the decision that the event was not viable due to the low number of advance ticket sales. As the Heads Up to Glastonbury concert was in aid of both charities, Heads Up and Glastonbury Abbey, it was not considered appropriate to incur further expense. We would like to thank our partners for their work on this event and very much hope that we can work together with Heads Up on a future project.
Full refunds will be given - if you have not been contacted directly please email the abbey shop firstname.lastname@example.org
Eboracum Baroque - Henry Purcell's Dido and Aeneas and The Fairy Queen
Saturday 22nd July 2017
After their debut at the abbey with King Arthur, Eboracum Baroque will return to the Lady Chapel with more Purcell. The first half will be a reduced version of The Fairy Queen, Purcell's take on A Midsummer Night's Dream followed by Dido and Aeneas in the second half.
Glastonbury Abbey Extravaganza 2017
Saturday 5th August 2017
There will be “Good Vibrations” at this year’s Glastonbury Abbey Extravaganza as Beach Boys Co-Founder Brian Wilson is to headline.
Music Legend Brian Wilson will play The Beach Boys’ seminal album, Pet Sounds, in full, as part of the 50th anniversary tour of the record named the greatest album of all-time by publications including the Times, NME and Uncut.
Performing alongside a celebrated band which includes his former bandmates Al Jardine and Blondie Chapman, Wilson will also treat the abbey crowd to greatest hits and rare cuts from their vast back catalogue.
Also playing at the Extravaganza will be Grammy-award winning singer Corinne Bailey Rae and the world-famous brass band, the Black Dyke Band.
Full terms and conditions can be found on the link below.
The 2017 spectacular complete with traditional firework display will be the 21st Extravaganza to be held at Glastonbury Abbey.
We are committed to making the abbey and events held at the abbey accessible to everyone. We may provide disabled ticket holders (who would be unable to attend without a PA - personal assistant / carer / essential companion) with a ticket at no additional cost for their PA, if they are in receipt of one of the following:
- Middle or Higher rate DLA for care and/or mobility
- Receipt of Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
- Evidence of being severely sight impaired
- CredAbility Access Card (+1 category requirement), see www.accesscard.org.uk
- A recognised Assistance Dog ID Card
If you do not have any of the above evidence but are unable to attend the abbey without a PA you are welcome to post or email copies of any additional evidence that supports your application. Applications are judged on a case-by-case basis. Tickets for events are sold on a first come, first served basis.
If the event is organised by an external organisation, the above will not necessarily apply and you will need to liaise directly with the organisers. If you wish to contact the organisers please contact email@example.com and we will put you in touch.
