Emily Eavis and Owen Barry support Glastonbury Abbey

Glastonbury Festival’s Emily Eavis has been talking locally made leather bags with Owen Barry’s Cindy Barnstable.

The company have been producing award winning leather handbags from their traditional workshops in Street since 1948. Their high quality goods are sold in some of the world's leading fashion houses.

“I’ve always been a fan of the Tanyard," says Emily Eavis. "When I visited I was blown away by the beautiful high quality, ethically sourced leather goods they were making. When Cindi asked me to design a bag for charity, I really was really excited! The leather is just beautiful and each part of it has been stitched by Somerset craftspeople. The trimmings are also from ethical and environmentally friendly sources close to home.

“And it's all in aid of Glastonbury Abbey which makes it all worth-while”  more

The singer is currently mid-way through her last major world tour and will be joining Ray Davies, who was lead vocalist and songwriter for The Kinks, for the annual extravaganza at Glastonbury Abbey.  more

His range of characters included Professor Gerald Bulgerwheat, an Edwardian archaeologist; Prior Nicholas London, a monk from the abbey’s past or Sir Edward the Unpredictable, a fictional knight who had become separated from the legendary King Arthur.  more
