Michael Eavis drops hints about Extravaganza headliner as tickets sell fast
Michael Eavis has today revealed that tickets for this year’s Glastonbury Abbey
Extravaganza, which is presented by Glastonbury Festival, are selling fast, despite the headliner for the eventon August 5th having not yet been revealed.
Eavis also dropped some clues about the mystery act that will top the bill.
“We’ve been selling vouchers for tickets since before Christmas,” said Eavis, “and the response has been incredible. We’ve sold more than we’ve ever sold before the
headline artist has been announced, which I think is a measure of the success
of the Extravaganza over the last few years.”
The 2016 Abbey Extravaganza was headlined by Van Morrison and its 10,000 tickets sold out well before the event, which also featured performances from Jamie Cullum and The Wells Cathedral School Big Band.
“Last year’s Extravaganza was just wonderful,” said Eavis, “but I really am delighted with the headline act we’ve managed to book this year. It’s a real coup for us. I think we could be looking at another sell out once we make the announcement!”
It’s already been revealed that this year’s Extravaganza will feature a performance from the world-famous brass band, Black Dyke Band. The event, which takes place in the beautiful grounds of the abbey, will also end with its traditional firework
The vouchers for tickets can be bought from the abbey shop or online at www.glastonburyabbey.com/extravaganza to be redeemed for adult or child tickets. Advance prices are £35 for adults and £20 for a child aged six to 16.
