Biography for Pauline Dodds
School Adviser for the Diocese of Bath and Wells
Glastonbury Abbey, with its rich historical and spiritual heritage is a significant place for people of all ages and faiths. Hence the preservation and development of the Abbey and grounds is vital, so future generations can also enjoy and gain inspiration from them.
I was honoured to be asked to join the Board of Abbey Trustees in 2014.
I have lived in Somerset since 1992, firstly in Bath and subsequently in Wells. Prior to my appointment to the Diocese of Bath and Wells I taught in two rural Somerset schools over a period of 15 years.
In my current role I travel the Diocese offering support and training, primarily in Church of England Schools, working with teachers, governors and clergy. This has given me knowledge of local communities, their challenges and changes, history and heritage.
Having always been steeped in education, I have a particular interest in the education service at the Abbey and will give it my full support.
