Biography for Martin Thomas
Martin is a freelance consultant who has worked in cultural organisations for over 20 years. Client have included Dartington Hall Trust, Falmouth Art Gallery and the Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum. Over a six year period he was responsible for developing the Arts Council funded creative and contemporary arts programme for the Royal Albert Memorial Museum (RAMM) where he curated several exhibitions and artist commissions.
Previous roles include Exeter Cultural Partnership where he was Culture Director; Arts Council England as Head of Learning for the south west, South West Museums Libraries & Archives Council as Head of Development, and Plymouth City Museum & Art Gallery as Exhibitions Officer. As a board member of Glastonbury Abbey Trust, he also chairs the Finance & Audit Committee. Martin is a Mentor for the Heritage Lottery Fund; and served two terms on the National Trust's South West Advisory Board.
