Members exclusive badger walk

This year we opened up the first session to abbey members only as a reward for the support becoming a member offers to the abbey. The badger walks take plave most Thursday evenings between the start of June and the end of August.

Wildlife volunteer Fran has written the following report of the first badger walk of the season:

It was the first of the season's badger tours last night.. with a keen group of members. We wondered if they had moved salt and cellar up to the Abbey house as not a cow parsley twitched in the copse for half an hour, but then a sturdy adult male crept out, and soon a young male, much closer to us. Worth the wait! No photos as in twilight.

Also, earlier good viewings of an irate woodpecker, crows and jackdaws (cat was up the tree). Another woodpecker patrolling the orchard, and bats accompanied our exit path
