This August Bank Holiday Monday join us for the first of our end of summer outdoor film double header. Within the beautiful surroundings of Glastonbury Abbey we are screening the poignant and beautifully filmed War Horse by Steven Spielberg. Doors open at 7pm and the film is expected to start 30 mins after sunset at approximately 8.40pm.

Film Synopsis:

Albert (Jeremy Irvine) and his beloved horse, Joey, live on a farm in the British countryside. At the outbreak of World War I, Albert and Joey are forcibly parted when Albert's father sells the horse to the British cavalry. Attending an Outdoor Event at Glastonbury Abbey:

Glastonbury Abbey is an outdoor event space and as such is open to the vagaries of the British weather. Our advice when attending an event at Glastonbury Abbey is that you should dress appropriately for the weather conditions and also be prepared for changes as the event progresses. Events held in the evening can become cold and/or damp with dew. For predicted rain please bring suitable wet weather clothing (not umbrellas).

The abbey becomes very dark after sunset and has many fall and trip points. We do our best with temporary lighting to illuminate areas of safety concern and exits from the abbey. It is advised to bring a personal torch to aid your exit from the abbey after sunset.

For your comfort you may bring a camp chair or picnic blanket as seating is generally not provided. You may bring your well behaved dog* as long as it is kept on a lead and doesn’t disrupt the event.
Gazebo’s and other large structures are not allowed to be used within the grounds of Glastonbury Abbey.

All events will go on as planned in all weather conditions unless that weather becomes unsafe.

Glastonbury Abbey is a licensed venue. If you are intoxicated upon arrival you may be refused entry. No antisocial behaviour or disrespect toward the site, the ruins, other visitors or staff will be tolerated.

*Not including the Glastonbury Extravaganza which has its own terms and conditions of entry.
