Looking forward to events season 2019
An exciting programme of events is planned throughout 2019. Here are just a few highlights to expect early in the season.
We are very pleased to be hosting a Medieval Fayre at the abbey in 2019. After circumstances prevented a fayre in 2018 we have been working to make sure we can bring a medieval fayre to Glastonbury once again. Over the easter weekend (20th and 21st of April) the abbey will be home to jesters, jousters and medieval battles. There will be several markets and workshops as well as have-a-go activities and costumed re-enactors. The Medieval Fayre will be open from 10am to 5pm each day. We recommend buying tickets in advance as you will save money on the door price and you'll also avoid the long queue for entry with those buying tickets on the day.

As a Glastonbury Abbey member you get year round access to 36 acres of grounds, exclusive meember events and discounts. In 2019 we've increased the member benefits for events by saving you more than £100 on advanced ticket prices. For almost every event at the abbey this year you will have a discounted ticket rate exclusive to members. Just look for the member rate in our events guide or on the website for each event.
Summer Open Evening
We were very pleased to win Best New Event at the National Outdoor Events Association in 2018 for the Summer Open Evening. We have a great lineup of acts for this year's event which is free entry from 6pm. The Glastonbury Fringe market returns with a varied array of traders and there will be some excellent catering available on site as well as a licensed bar. Make sure you are in early as the entertainment finishes at 9pm and last entry to the abbey will be at 8:45.
The events team is committed to helping the abbey achieve sustainability across the site and reduce waste and the carbon footprint of events. We make every effort to use suppliers from the immediate area, traders who source locally and encourage the use of recycling stations and focused waste management. We will be making some changes this year as to what can be brought in to events at the abbey so keep an eye on social media and the website for any changes that might affect the event you are attending.
We look forward to seeing you at the abbey in 2019.
