New Tours for people with Autism.

The monthly Quiet Tours are aimed at those who have autism or who have relatives with the condition.
The tours are free with admission and these specialist tours can be pre-booked online at www.glastonburyabbey.com
Learning Manager Julie Hayes said: “These will be at 9.30am on a Sunday morning so the experience will be at a quiet time, without machinery working in the grounds or large parties of visitors.
“The tour will be with one of our costumed guides who will tailor the tour to suit people’s needs as much as possible. Visitors will be guided through the historical grounds. Some of the sounds they may hear include birdsong, leaves rustling in the wind, running water, a woodpecker in the orchard, footsteps on the Lady Chapel Bridge, wind in the trees and ducks quacking. There may also be some noises from outside the grounds, such as the church clock, chiming, traffic or emergency vehicle sirens.

Places are limited to 10 people per a tour and must be booked online.

The dates are;

May 20th, June 17th, July 15th, August 26th, September 30th, October 14th
