Exhibition of Gothic Gardens at Glastonbury Abbey by Strode College Students.

Strode College Art & Design students will be showcasing their talent with an exhibition at Glastonbury Abbey featuring Gothic Gardens.
The exhibition will run from 10th February until 15 March in the abbey’s museum.
This exciting exhibition will provide a great opportunity for members of the public, including those thinking of studying at the college, to see the diversity and quality of work achieved, while also observing the college’s extensive and specialist arts curriculum.

Julie Hayes, Learning Manager says; “This is an excellent opportunity for students of Strode Colleges UAL* Level 3 Diploma in Art & Design to demonstrate their response to the exhibition brief: Gardens and Reflections. It is the Year 1 students’ first opportunity to exhibit as a group and reflects an exciting partnership between Glastonbury Abbey and the College in wanting to showcase local young talent”

Petrina Rochester, A Level Manager and Head of Art said; “The show will reflect their very broad programme of study, including ceramics, drawing and painting, photography and printmaking. The programme is extremely popular as a full time vocational study with 50 students enrolling on the course. The students will be looking to progress to the Extended Diploma, where they will further develop their portfolios in line with their subject discipline, which can include film, graphics, sculpture and textiles.

Strode creative arts students are known for producing excellent and imaginative work as seen in the End of the Year show exhibited annually in June at the Strode College campus”
