Autobiography
Ron Baxter is the Research Director of the Corpus of Romanesque Sculpture in Britain & Ireland, based at King's College, London. His own fieldwork for the project includes the counties of Berkshire, Cambridge, Huntingdon, Cheshire, Stafford and Northampton, and he is currently working on Peterborough Cathedral, where he serves as a member of the Fabric Advisory Committee.
He is the author of Bestiaries and their Users in the Middle Ages (Sutton 1998), and of numerous articles on medieval sculpture and manuscript production in Britain and Europe. He is currently writing a book on Reading Abbey while collecting material for a major study of English Romanesque sculpture. He teaches part-time for the University of York.
