Attending an Outdoor Event at Glastonbury Abbey:
Glastonbury Abbey is an outdoor event space and as such is open to the vagaries of the British weather. Our advice when attending an event at Glastonbury Abbey is that you should dress appropriately for the weather conditions and also be prepared for changes as the event progresses. Events held in the evening can become cold and/or damp with dew. For predicted rain please bring suitable wet weather clothing (not umbrellas).
The abbey becomes very dark after sunset and has many fall and trip points. We do our best with temporary lighting to illuminate areas of safety concern and exits from the abbey. It is advised to bring a personal torch to aid your exit from the abbey after sunset.
For your comfort you may bring a camp chair or picnic blanket as seating is generally not provided. You may bring your well behaved dog* as long as it is kept on a lead and doesn’t disrupt the event.
Gazebo’s and other large structures are not allowed to be used within the grounds of Glastonbury Abbey.
All events will go on as planned in all weather conditions unless that weather becomes unsafe.
Unaccompanied children are not permitted to enter or exit any Glastonbury Abbey events. Children must always be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Event tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
Glastonbury Abbey is a licensed venue. If you are intoxicated upon arrival you may be refused entry. No antisocial behaviour or disrespect toward the site, the ruins, other visitors or staff will be tolerated.
*Not including the Glastonbury Extravaganza which has its own terms and conditions of entry.
