Wet Felting Workshop - 3D Vessels
Saturday 8th August 2020
Where: Main Abbey
Join us on 08 August from 10am to 4pm in our large marquee, to learn the process of felting a 3D vessel.
This adult workshop costs £55 and advance booking, either online or in the abbey shop, is essential, as places are limited.
As lunch will also be included, please advise us of any dietary requirements at the time of booking.
Jennie Loader has a background in exploring and experimenting with textiles as an art medium. She has been working with wool fibre, taking traditional wet felting techniques and translating them to create contemporary work and accessories for over 12 years.
Delivering workshops enables Jennie to share her passion for the sustainable and transformative properties that make wool such a rich material to work with, whilst creating something unique and beautiful.
Using the resist wet felting method you will learn how to create a hollow 3D felt form, with no seams.
You will have the opportunity to experiment with silk fibres, yarn, open weave textiles, wool locks and pre-felts, to build up surface texture and design.
A range of colourful dyed, plus natural undyed, high quality wool will be available to work with, ensuring a colour palette to suit everyone.
At the end of the day you will have a finished felted vessel to take home.
All materials and equipment are provided, along with post-workshop notes to remind you of the processes learnt during the day.
Please note: There is a £1 booking fee when booking online. Tickets are non-refundable.
