If you are interested in learning more about traditional book binding techniques, this beginner’s course for adults with little or no experience, is for you.
It will take place on Saturday 26 September in the abbey museum, from 10am to 4pm and the tutor will be Nina Gronw-Lewis, a Somerset based artist who makes artists books alongside her sculptures.
Places are limited, so please book in advance, either online or in the abbey shop.
The cost will be £30, to include materials.
During this workshop participants will learn *three versatile book styles, which can be used to present work, to personalise and give as gifts, or as the basis for artists’ books.
On completion of the workshop students will leave with a set of their own books and the skills to make more at home using minimal equipment.
*Four hole stab binding, hard cover absurd accordion fold, soft cover pamphlet stitch with slip case.
