Toddler Group at Glastonbury Abbey

Tuesday 5th May - Tuesday 1st September 2020

When: 10am   
Where: Main Abbey

A fun filled session of play, songs, music and craft activities held each week in the small marquee for children up to 4 years of age accompanied by an adult. Every Tuesday from 5th May until 1st September 10am-11am.

Wildlife Tour

Saturday 23rd May - Saturday 26th September 2020

Find out about the diverse wildlife that calls the Abbey its home by joining our wildlife volunteers on a free tour of the grounds and wildlife area.

Tea & Talk: Animals in Archaeology

Saturday 5th September 2020

When: 10am   
Where: Abbey House

Come along to a tea and talk at abbey house where Steve Tofts will be discussing the evidence for animals in the archaeological record. Steve will describe the basic bones found and the significance of finding different bits of animals in different locations. The audience is encouraged to bring along any bones they have found to be (hopefully) identified.

Old Herbaceous - Kick in the Head Productions

First at Glastonbury Abbey in 2018, it is returning due to popular demand. Described as “Downton Abbey with gardening tips”, Old Herbaceous is the humorous love story of a single-minded yet gentle man with a passion for plants and is a charming one man play which has entranced sell-out audiences all around the country over the last three years.

Gregorian Chant Workshop

Saturday 12th September 2020

Where: Abbot's Kitchen

Join John Rowlands-Pritchard to experience an interactive day of Gregorian chants on Saturday 12 September. This one-day workshop for adults will take place in the Abbot’s Kitchen and the cost is £20 for the day, from 10am to 5pm. Please book early to avoid disappointment.

Tea & Talk: 'Unruly Neighbours'

Veteran Living History Presenter Dr Mark Hutchinson will be delivering a talk on the relationship, dealings and strife between Glastonbury and the city of Wells in the Medieval period. The talk will be from 10am to 11.30am on Saturday 19th September, at Abbey House.

Abbey House - Heritage Open Day

Sunday 20th September 2020

When: 1pm   
Where: Abbey House

Come and visit Abbey House, see its beautiful garden, and join a tour of the house at 1.30pm, 2.30pm or 3.30pm. Refreshments will be on sale.

Bookbinding Workshop

Saturday 26th September 2020

Where: Abbey Museum

Somerset based artist, Nina Gronw-Lewis has been making artists’ books alongside her sculptures for over 10 years and enjoys teaching book binding skills to small groups.
