On this page you can find all necessary information for your class’s visit to Glastonbury Abbey, including opening times and duration, pricing and payment information and facilities.
Opening Times
Our opening times are subject to change at present and you should always check opening times before travelling.
Our current opening times are 10am to 5pm every day, with last entry at 4.15pm.
When making your booking with our Learning & Engagement team, you will be offered a schedule with a time of entry to Glastonbury Abbey. School visit schedules are currently being offered between the times of 10am and 3pm.
Duration
Your visit to Glastonbury Abbey including your History Explorers Tour will last approximately 2 hours. Additional bookable activities will last approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Current Prices
Admission cost:
- £5.75 per student to include a History Explorer's Tour and full access to the Abbey grounds and Museum.
- £7.50 per student to include a History Explorer's Tour, up to two bookable activities and full access to the Abbey grounds and Museum.
Please note: Admission charges are not subject to VAT.

Payment Options
The following payment methods are accepted:
- In advance: over the phone with our admin team.
- On arrival: by cash or card.
- By invoice: after your visit (UK addresses only)
Please bring your booking confirmation with you when you arrive for your visit.
Lunch Spaces
School groups visiting Glastonbury Abbey are welcome to use our onsite marquee for lunch (60 pupils max), or arrange space in the grounds for a picnic.
Please note that pre-booking is essential.
Facilities
Toilet facilities, including an accessible toilet are available at the Abbey. Please note that these are located in a publicly accessible area within the Glastonbury Abbey Yard. As pupils must temporarily leave the main, supervised site to use these facilities, there is an increased risk of contact with members of the public, reduced staff oversight, and the possibility of pupils becoming separated from the group. To mitigate these risks, schools should ensure that pupils are always accompanied by appropriate adults when leaving the main site, and that clear headcounts and check-in/check-out procedures are in place.
Unfortunately, there are no storage facilities at this site and personal belongings should be kept with their owners at all times.

Code of Conduct
- Please ensure your pupils respect other visitors, museum objects and attraction staff.
- Staff reserve the right to ask visitors to leave if their behaviour disrupts the experience of others in the attraction.

If you wish to place a booking, ensure you give us your preferred dates for your visit ready to check for availability, and let us know how many children you are booking for. If you are making an enquiry about a session, please let us know the age of your pupils and any special education needs they might have so we can tailor your package to your requirements.
Please note that we require bookings to be made at least 6 weeks in advance.
